Holy shit
The yankees (purposeful mis-capitalization...) are playing like shit. If you saw the game tonight--still painfully not over--you know what I mean. Three fucking errors in the 10th inning and a forced run by base on balls? That's about five games of bad juju in one inning.

All it would take to cap this off as the most disappointing game I've ever seen is a grand slam... which as I wrote didn't happen because Rivera actually did something right by striking out the last A.

Hopefully the Yankees will not give up like they did last night and at least tie it back up this inning. Down 3, that's highly unlikely, but I'm going to wish for the miracle anyway.

Update: Game over. Cruel fate that the A's left fielder would miss Cano's fly so close to second and get Martinez on a forced out. Even then I wasn't convinced it was over, but Jeter flied out and cut the chances of a second comeback by about 98%. Another fly-out put the final touches on a 4 game losing streak. Sigh.

The good news is my other favorite team, the Braves, won against Houston 9-4. Nice. They're leading the NL East, like usual, but my father figures they'll choke (like usual). We'll see in another... 133 games? Something like that. It's too bad I only get a fraction of their games on TV.

And no, I'm not a fan of the Braves and Yankees just because they're good (inevitable accusation by fans of other teams). The Braves have been my favorite team all my conscious life and the Yankees just have a great aura and I enjoy watching them more than anyone else.
